Advertisements

The problem with being a practical man is that they tend to have less fun. =(

Wifey loves advertisements. She sees them from a superficial level, taking them at face value. In fact, there appears to be a very positive correlation (R-square -> 1) between the number of advertisements she read and the amount of money that she spends. =p
I love advertisements too. I love how they come up with innovative themes and jingles for the advert, but I'm always out to spot their hidden agenda and lies.

The already tummy-slim Fiona Xie marketing Uzap?

And the already well-endowed Margaret Lee endorsing bust-firming cream?

Or XXX bank introducing the "cheapest" loan in the market? Think again.

Or Contact lens solution company advertising, only to get their products recalled from the shelf due to contamination?

Or fast food advertisements telling you how yummy their new product is, while hiding the trans fats and hydrogenated fats contents? And using toys to entice young consumers to grow obese and unhealthy?

Or advertisements on overhyped cars? Are they really worth so much?

I gotta give credits to the advertisers though, for discrediting consumers.
As with stocks, do your own research before jumping in.
