Choice, Luck and Chance.
Choice:
Choices are decisions people make when they come to cross-roads.
The more choices you make, the wiser you will become.
Result of some of these choices can make or break you.
Never forget the bad choices you make, but do not wallow in regret and self-pity, because bad choices help you make better choices.
And be proud of the smart choices you make.
Luck:
Luck is in the hands of God.
Some people have all the luck in the world.
I know of someone who is a frequent winner in 4D and strike the big jackpot in Gentings. One of the rare few who probably won more than what she lost.
I, on the other hand, have never had the luck to win a single 4D or Toto, despite my repeated warnings to my boss to "Watch out, I might be throwing letter after this Monday/Thursday".
If you are someone who doesn't have much luck, then the next best thing you can do is to increase your chance.
Chance:
Toto is 1 in 8 million probability of getting the largest payout.
When you throw a dice for odd/even, its 1 out of 2.
Chance is choosing the odds that will give you the "better luck".
Chance is applying for good IPOs because it has higher probability than striking Toto, and near-guaranteed returns too.
I have a colleague who used to sign up for every lucky draw, and ended up on many game shows on TV. He knew that by signing up more (since they are free), it will increase his chances. He was subsequently banned for game shows due to "overexposure", lest people think our Mediacorp is kelong.
-----------
Wifey and I bought a computer recently at Plaza Singapura.
Due to the amount that we spent, we were given tons of lucky draw coupons to fill up, which we spent about 30 mins. Zzzz...
There are 3 boxes to throw our vouchers in it. One winner will be chosen from each box. Winner of box A will get some jewellery voucher, box B will get some Osim stuff and box C will get something else.
Choice: Should we waste time filling up all these coupons? Oh well, lets just fill them and throw them in the box with your favourite prize.
Luck: It doesn't matter where we throw all the coupons to. Lets spread them to all the 3 boxes. Maybe we will win all 3 prizes?
Chance: To maximise the chances, lets throw all the tickets to the box with the lowest amount of coupons. This should help to improve the chance at getting the least popular prize.
I went for a mixture of choice and chance, a reflection of what I do in real-life.
