The Magic Tree

There were once 3 happy monkeys living on top of a great magic tree.

The first monkey couldn't see.
The second monkey couldn't talk.
And the third monkey couldn't hear.

Despite their disabilities, they complemented each other. The monkey who couldn't see was the one that needed the most help. Losing the sight is worse than losing any other senses. But the other 2 monkeys were only too glad to help.

And they were happy.

Residing with them were a bunch of squirrels. The most lovable squirrels you will ever find. The type of squirrels that kids are dying to keep as pets.

Life was great. The amazing magic tree produced all types of fruits and nuts for the 3 monkeys and the squirrels. Everytime a fruit/nut was consumed, it will respawn somewhere else on the tree.

Yes, it's a magic tree.

The 3 monkeys and squirrels never bothered to leave the tree. They were too busy playing all day and night. When they were not playing, they were either eating or sleeping. it was like heaven on earth, a paradise aboard a magic tree.

Unfortunately, on a stormy night, a terrible lightning strike a few times on the magic tree. Some of the squirrels were shocked dead. =( And the magic tree was hurt.

The afternath? Surprisingly, the magic tree has miraculously revitalised after the lightning shock, and has produced more variety of fruits than before.

But the squirrels came to a realisation after crying over the death of their companions. What is life like outside the magic tree? Dos lightning only hit this tree? They looked as far as they could see, and saw plenty of trees. One of the trees they saw had a TV set on top of the tree. Another tree spawned sweets and chocolates. And another had a car on top of the tree.

Ridiculous, but true.
The magic tree was just one of the many magic trees in the enchanted forest.

Some of the squirrels packed their bags and left in different directions. never to come back.

The monkey who couldn't talk and the monkey who couldn't hear left soon after. For greener pastures.

The monkey who couldn't see was left on the tree with the remaining squirrels. The fruits/nuts are still plentiful. But it just doesn't seem the same to him anymore.

And he couldn't leave even if he wanted to.
He's blind after all.

So, moving forward - noting that the monkey is not as happy anymore as before staying on this particular magic tree.

Would the monkey prefer to stay on the tree, and pray that someday, some kind monkeys would come and lead him to a better future?

Or would the monkey prefer to risk trying - even though he may not know what lies ahead?

Life is all a matter of choices, and it all lies in ur hands. =)

When I could not hear, you guided me with your words. What I could see, you already knew. The understanding between all of us, need not be seen, heard or spoken.

I'm sorry we had to leave you behind.

Don't feel sad about the way things are.

Good memories are best left that way.

Happiness is a perception.

One that a blind monkey can see if he chooses to. I hope the blind monkey will choose to be happy.
