Law of Clarity

Fewer than 3% of adults have their goals clearly written and planned out.

Most of us live day by day, with the impending weekends being the only thing thats certain and clear.

We have dreams, and some of us have a rough idea of what we want.
A better life, a bigger house, a dream car.

But we have no exact clarity with regards to achieving our goals. Which makes our dreams nothing but daydreams.

Famous Success Speaker Brian Tracy shares his proven rule of success - Law of Clarity.

Clarity accounts for probably 80% of success and happiness. Lack of clarity is probably more responsible for frustration and underachievement than any other single factor. That’s why we say that “Success is goals, and all else is commentary.” People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine. This is true everywhere and under all circumstances.

And its not just about having goals. Its also about how you go about realising it.
Brian talks about the 7 simple steps on how to achieve the goals. One thing that stands out of the list is the importance of having daily targets, which will move you closer to the goal day by day.

I recall the story of this young man who set a target to distribute 5 pamphlets a day for his business. There came a day when he was back late and too tired to carry it out. His mum (who was also his business partner) ordered him to at least put 5 pamphlets on the windscreen of 5 cars in the neighbourhood.

Last I heard, the family is doing excellent in their business.

When following daily targets become habitual, the discipline will follow.
Take brushing the teeth for example. No matter how tired I am, I will have to brush my teeth before I sleep.

Setting goals are like making a declaration to yourself, IF you are disciplined.

I will end this post with one good quote from Neil Eskelin

Declarations are powerful. If you declare that you are going to be an optimistic, upbeat person at all times, an interesting phenomenon takes place. When people expect you to be positive, you don't want to let them down. You live your intentions every day - every minute.
