Complexifying simple stuffs

I always believe The Man Above made everything simple. But humans, being brainy creatures, just had to inject information and emotions to make simple things difficult.

Why have war when you can just have peace?
Why lose your temper when you can settle things amicably?
Why commit suicide when you can live?
Why not just move on to the next available girl if your current one rejects you?
Why smoke when if it gives you more harm than good?
Why pick up a fight if it's going to hurt both of you?
Why do you even provoke people in the first place?

The solution to many questions is sometimes so simple, and right before your eyes. If only we learn to be less emotional, and be more rational.

There's a time to think, but there's also a time to stop thinking too much and just take the most obvious "correct" solution.

That would work in an ideal world. But humans are emotional or become emotional. You had to release your emotions from time to time, rationality is only good to a certain extent.

If we would only be rational, we would be computers or robots.

If we would only be emotional, we would be unbearable beings.

The key is temperance :)

It's true that the human race makes things difficult for themselves. We have been conditioned for ages but that doesn't mean we cannot change. It just have to start with you, me and for now, Nino. :)

Being rational doesn't make us any less human. Rational people can still laugh or cry, they just make decisions and close the case faster.

I remembered the time when I first broke up with my first girlfriend. I was very sad over the next few weeks, but I bounced back and move on and soon got attached with Wifey. Best decision ever. It wouldn't have happened if I was sulking and living in my own misery for the next few months.

My 2 cents. ^_^

Wenny:
I agree with you that our minds are often conditioned by our past experiences, and that should not be a reason for us not to change.

Oops, re-read your comment and realised I just paraphrase what you said. But that just means I'm in agreement with what you said.

That's where self awareness comes into place :)

We should always be aware of our own emotions/actions, thus able to switch from the -ve to the positive side!!

Why have war when you can just have peace? [fear of losing the country thus no power]
Why lose your temper when you can settle things amicably? [not mindful enough]
Why commit suicide when you can live? [no self love]
Why not just move on to the next available girl if your current one rejects you? [too painful to accept rejection]
Why smoke when if it gives you more harm than good? [someone will die but not me as yet]
Why pick up a fight if it's going to hurt both of you? [drink cow's milk instead of mother's milk]
Why do you even provoke people in the first place? [monkey's mind cannot sits still] my 2 കക bananaz.

@Shingo: Sure, but you say you were sad for next few weeks, that makes you emotional, right? I think people are both, it just depends which part is stronger. But being just one, either only rational or only emotional, is not good, it's not even possible. My 2.5 cents ^_~

yes, i agree with you.. most of the time things are made too complicated and hence strangled there without solution.. think from the other angle, perhaps it's just a very simple solution that nobody has ever thought of.. :)

we also tent to over analyse things... issue and solution might be very simple.

i think by nature we will be emotional (we cant help being human), but we need to settle down quickly and weight it rationaly. we shouldnt let emotion get the better of our judgement... and most of the time, we tend to hav epersonal gain/interest attached to it... conflict!

Hmmm, philosophical. :D
Sadly, with humans finite intelligence, they think they own the world.
The world we live in now only thinks with emotions and free will.
Being rational would only lead to us being called intolerant and irrational. ahh, the irony.
We are all complex creatures.
Taking the 'right' way can be an eyesore to another.
We can never please everyone. So we should just stop trying. :p

Can't get rid of the emotional part - too human! We're too egoistic to want to do the 'correct' thing!!

haha, your answers are funny. ^_^

MKL:
yup. I have my emotional times too, but I do try to make it a point to rationalise everytime I get emotional.

RicAdeMus:
That's pointing fingers. Haha.

Most times, ego is the root of the upheaval or the cause of people not thinking rationally. But then again, if there's no ego (or pride), we wouldn't bother to improve ourselves.
