(2) Year 2010 was a breakthrough for me. Stepped out of my comfort zone and greatly widen my social circle. Made so many many friends. And gotten some lobangs in the process. I'm blessed!
(3) Life is full of options. And you always need to have backup plans, alternate plans and risky plans. Life has a funny way of forcing you into a corner and make you execute your other plans.
(4) Nothing gets solved when we complain. And the person who you are sharing your complaints with isn't going to be any happier when hearing it. So always think about the bright side of the situation.
(5) As a result of (4), do yourself a favour and spend more time with happier people. When someone tries to complain to you, hold your hand right in front of him and tell him "It doesn't matter, now shut the hell up". Unless of course, if it's the wife who is complaining, that one you must listen.
(6) I have set up 4 resolutions for the year 2011. I won't list them explicitly here, except for keeping myself in shape for the 21km half-marathon at the end of year 2011.
(7) Don't let your soul be consumed by Facebook and Twitter and Blogger. Is it ironic, coming from a blogger?
(8) Wishing all my friends here a great year 2011. Play hard, but never compromise on a good night sleep.

Happy 2011!
i like no. 8 lol. happy new year, uncle!
I agree on 3 and 5 a lot.
Yes, better not to list your resoutions out. Just in case you fail to complete it, you won't feel too stressed about it. LoLz
re your comment:
I think I am. I hope I am! Lolz at least I hope my subordinates think so. They're nice people to work with too.
How long did you go Europe for? I was thinking I should try at least 2 weeks and we don't intend to go on a tour package coz we would prefer to explore the place to our own leisure. We've never gone on group tours before coz of the impression that it's too rushed and touristy. However, from what you said, it sounds good too.
Thank you. I really hope to keep the pictures and stories coming in.
Happy 1-1-11 to you! May the year bring you lots of peace, joy and laughter and of coz lots of love!
True, esp pt 1. & 4. Wantg to learn malay too as 90% of my good friends are muslims :) Yes wish you & yr loved ones happy new year!
Happy New Year! You'll succeed with Malay and what others say is true.
Happy New Year! Success be with you in all you do. :)
Jo:
Europe without a tour is fine. The reason why we went chose a tour is because for Honeymoon, the last thing you want is screwups in the hotel booking, getting lost etc... which may ruin the Honeymoon. And in case you are wondering, we spent a total of S$13K on a 19 days trip. But rates are better now, so you should be paying alot less.
Pink Miu Miu:
check your nearby community centres to see if there's such a course.
I am guessing that you never went to school in Malaysia at all? Do you read Chinese? So, you got your education all the way in Singapore? Since you've signed up for Malay classes then I can write a bit of Malay huh? :)
Malay is hard and not hard. Confusing huh? If you're sitting for those vital exams in M'sia they always make it as hard as possible. But for basic conversation sake, it's a piece of cake!
Selamat Tahun Baru 2011!
Yes Master! Your advice all well noted.
So I should practise #5 on lo kong more often ... he must listen right?
Hi Shingo,
not a good idea to fork out $$ just to learn malay. Just sorrund urself with malay frens or get a malay dictionary. As for point (2), when you make new frens, you're bound to have some complainers. Something must give.
Have a blessed new year. by the way, i m curious.. why want to take up malay language?
Well written, bro. As always, you are your readers conscience, you remind us that we need to stay grounded and reasonable.
I wish you a successful year 2011. Maybe our paths cross again, if so, it will probably be in the country, that prides itself to be the tiny dot on the world map ;)
Say hi to your graceful wifey :)
Best wishes for a new year filled with dreams fulfilled and everything good.
Work hard play harder..tQ.
you're right - complaining does you no good and gets you nowhere... and totally right too that who you hang out with can greatly affect who you become. Here's to a year of change and growth! happy new year to you and your wife shingo!
Happy New Year to you Shingo! Love the point (5) though I doubt I will have the guts to do that.. LOL!
last one is my fav, not just sleep, anything and everything.
Selamat Tahun Baru!
Happy New Year! :)
happy 2011! way to go with ur malay language shingo!
I especially like No.4 and No.5, sometimes I may complain, but that because I need a way to release my emotions, but we all know that it's useless. So the better thing is try to find the solution ASAP, and turn things in an acceptable way.
And the half-marathon goal is big to me, haha, I can run almost 7km in 1 hour though, but I don't think I can join the marathon game. :-P
4, 5, and 8. Thanks for the wise words! :) Happy New Year, Uncle! :p
#7 - I was away for a few days and didn't surf Net. It's like a release!
Good luck for your resolutions. And I have a feeling that the resolution you listed was the least important one...
Ai Shiang:
yup, I did all my education in Singapore. It's a little embarrassing sometimes, being a Malaysian that can't speak Malay. I'm only learning conversational Malay for now, heard it's easier than writing formal Malay. =p
Wenny:
haha, I know you are never one who complains much. =p
boh.tak.chek:
Signing up for classes instills a discipline for me to go for classes. Don't want to lose focus.
renaclaire:
Gonna speak a little of my country's language.
Will come in handy. ^_^
Nino:
haha, do I smell 2 lovebirds coming t Singapore to visit Uncle Shingo?
khengsiong:
I should do that someday, learn to live without the Internet. It's way too addictive!
7-8:
yup, you know me best, bro!
Having trouble learning Malay mate? saya rasa, tak lah begitu susah :)
I guess one of your 2011 resolution would be having a kid. good luck! If you're not than I am. hahahahah
cheers
Netster:
Good luck, Netster. Who knows, maybe our kids will grow up to meet each other in some part of their life and be good friends. =p
hahahahah you never know :) life has all the funny destination that will surprise us! LOL
kekekeke I would love to have a kid right now... sien everyday see the same boring world ... a little active one would be my buddy to watch cartoon together :)
Netster:
